THE FRICTION

Feedback arrives as chat messages about different exports. A client says the video is approved, but the editor still has to identify which file, which corrections, and which stakeholder gave that decision.

THE PRODUCT WE’RE EXPLORING

CutSignoff, in three parts.

CutSignoff would keep the current cut, review notes, and named decisions together. The focus is a clear review record for finished edits, not automatic video generation or clipping.

Three planned capabilities we want to validate with early users.

01 / PLANNED

Notes anchored to the cut

Planned comments would refer to a time in a specific media version so the editor can find the intended moment.

02 / PLANNED

A complete review round

A proposed checklist would distinguish requested changes, resolved notes, and decisions still needed.

03 / PLANNED

Approval linked to the file

Planned sign-off would identify the version and reviewer; a replacement export would require a new decision.

AN INTENDED WORKFLOW

A clearer next step.
Less work around it.

A focused approach for freelance editors and small studios delivering client videos through several review rounds.

  1. 01

    Prepare an authorized cut

Bring a video you have permission to share, with a defined reviewer list and retention terms.

  2. 02

    Resolve the review round

Collect time-based feedback and record what changed in the next version.

  3. 03

    Capture the final decision

Have the designated reviewer approve the actual delivery version before export.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few useful answers.

Can I upload a video today?

No. CutSignoff is a research waitlist. Media upload, playback, review links, and approval records are planned.

Is an approval a legal signature?

No legal signature or contract service is offered. The proposed record would support an operational review process.

Will you host videos indefinitely?

No storage or retention terms are finalized. File limits, access controls, and deletion rules must be published before a media pilot.
